Let It Snow

The snow invaded last week.  But as I said before, I'm okay with it.  Just thankful we didn't get the typical October snow.  And in the first few weeks I'm always awestruck by how pretty it can be.  Don't worry, I'll get over that as soon as Christmas is over.  Especially once the drifting begins.  I'll be sure to photograph it along the way so you understand how crazy it is.  But for now, I'm enjoying the soft, pillowy dusting lit by Christmas lights.

This is our house.  We put the lights up Thanksgiving weekend.  No, I was not the one on the roof!  I prefer my feet stay planted on the ground.  Trees and bushes.  That's where I'm comfortable.  See the driveway?  It doesn't look like that anymore.  Wanna know why?  We bought a snow blower.  Scott's new favorite toy!  Sounds stupid since we're going to be moving this summer, but you would not believe how much snow removal services cost!

And before you ask I'll just tell you, NO.  Once the drifting begins we cannot shovel all the snow ourselves.  You'll see.  The wind in this state is fascinating and horrifying.  The snow and drifting is the least of our problems each winter.  The winds aid the temperature in dropping below zero degrees for a good six weeks between January and February.  Don't worry, I'll take a picture of a thermometer when we get there.  But enough with the warnings, the doom and gloom.  For now, I'm enjoying the soft, pillowy dusting lit by Christmas lights!
