Nor'easter

Thankfully, we kept our shovel and snow blower from North Dakota.  They came in handy this weekend when the much anticipated Nor'easter dumped 8 inches of snow on us.  The 50 mph wind gusts didn't help road conditions either so we postponed our NYC trip until next weekend, then headed out into the wind to combat the snow.  Felt just like North Dakota, but a little warmer.  Scott snow-blowed the driveway and walkway while I shoveled the back deck.  The snow had drifted right up to the back door, and I knew Alley wouldn't go outside if she had to jump over a drift to get out there.

So a path to the yard was shoveled for Alley's potty breaks.  I continued shoveling the entire deck . . . until this happened.

Turns out the handle is not ergonomically designed to reduce stress on your back, or whatever.  Actually, the arm was bent during the move this summer and the combination of heavy snow and the occasional force of running into a lifted nail compounded the problem.  What's the big deal, right?  Alley's path to the yard was cleared and the rest of the snow will melt.  Yeah, no problem here.  Except that snow = yard in her mind, no matter where it is.

 Gross.  Don't eat yellow snow.
